Watertight membrane??

After returning my recent camping trip, I noticed what I believe to be a watertight membrane coming undone from the metal frame. Any ideas how to reattach it, or repair it?

Thank you in advance.

Jim,

It's not actualy watertight, it's more water resistant. You will most likely be dropping a portion of it sometime in the future.

when my camper was built the factory used No. 8 self drilling metal screws. Most of them have been overtorqued and stripped, I replaced them with No. 10 metal screws and used 5/16" fender washers to provide support.

Some builds still use the screws, but the power fasteners are being used more now. They are a pain to get out, most guys use a chisel and cut them off.

Agree. It is strange. I wonder if I remove the bolts, then reinstall with an adhesive such as flex seal or gorilla glue? Thoughts?

I wouldn't use any thing that will make it harder to drop in the future or seal it up tight enough that water could acummulate.

You want to be able to get into the bellypan where stuff goes wrong.

You don't want the under belly to be fully watertight, just water resistant.

I haven't looked under the current crop of trailers so I don't know what they are using right now. You don't want it sagging too much though.

Mine appears to be pop-rivets.
