Water heater

I had turned off the water to our 2020 aspen trail but forgot to turn off the the electric heat switch for the water heater. Am I safe to leave it like this for a few days and is there some kind of built in safety incase this happens

Oopsies! If the heater doesn’t run dry, you may (underscore may) be ok. If it runs dry, you will have all sorts of issues. It will not or should not overheat if there is water in it//

We only filled the sink up before leaving that morning and will be returning in four days so hoping enough water remains in the tank but thought there would be some kind of safety to protect the tank from burning out if empty

If you have fresh water there should not be any problems. People live full time in these or often camp for weeks at a time on shore power. There is a thermostat that will maintain the water heat at the right temp. If you are using propane you will use some but that is about it.
