hey yuall picked up my rig in nov 2012 getting it soon out of storage just brainstorming here. i want to buy tv for rv but know how this works there is a circle sticker on my wall that says tv mount do I need a special mount or special tv. thanks for any input

Any steel mounting bracket that is specific to your size tv will work. We purchased ours at a Walmart.

Remember do not use the mounting lag bolts that came with your mount (they are too long). Take notice of the diameter of the lag bolt and purchase the same diameter lags in a shorter version that will fit the thickness of your mounting wall; ie, interior wall or exterior wall.

You can purchase the lag bolts at a hardware store or big box lumber yard.

In my case the tv had to be mounted on an outside wall. I measured the thickness of exterior wall and made sure my lag bolts were 3/4" to 1" shorter than the thickness of the wall. If the wall was 2-1/2" inches thick I purchased 1-1/2" lags.

Sounds like you’re going through the same thought/stress process I went through to mount my TV in the bedroom – boy what am I going to do if I mess this up. I too had the round sticker mounted on the wall telling me to mount TV here (on my trailer outside wall). What would have been nice is a few more words of instruction on that sticker i.e. what am I screwing into (wood, plastic, fiberglass), maximum length of wood screw, should I use a wall anchor, etc. I went to my doorframe going outside and measured that wall then subtracted ¾ of an inch to give me some extra insurance that I would not go straight through.

yeah hopfully that will be enough for traveling bouncing etc. going to rv class tomarrow going to ask them maybe they have bolts and stand etc. should be interesting . thanks kayak glad im not the only one.
