runner under slide

I have a Coleman Explorer 260RL. The left plastic runner runner that the slide runs in and out on on the bottom edge so as to not scratch or damage the carpet or floor broke in half. i am going to get a new part tomorrow, or order one. my question is that with the slide out the piece sticks inside the trailer and the rubber slide gasket at least 6 inches. Can i jack the slide up enough to get the piece under there? I plan on asking service their opinion but they will probably tell me to bring it in.
