Resealing corners

New to trailers. Just bought an 07 LS700 in excellent condition. Owner recaulked seams every year. I need to scrape all the old stuff off and redo. Was thinking maybe I should go ahead and take the corner moulding off, replace tape etc.

How often should that be done? Any tips?

As long as the tape has not been exposed to UV or damaged in some way it will last a long, long time. It is butyl and will stay sticky. I have pulled some out of a roof system that was around 18 years old and it was still gooey.

Try to roll the old stuff off with your thumbs, instead of using a tool that may tear the roof membrane.
