Poop Tote Storage

We have a Coleman 16FSB which we tow with our Burb. It has the spare tire mounted on the rear bumper. We recently bought a 36 gal Rhino poop tote for when we go out and there are no sewer hookups. Question is can I mount it to the rear bumper with the bumper mount kit (https://www.campingworld.com/camco-r...er-107779.html) for when we travel or do we need the bumper reinforcements to be able to do that? I was thinking maybe I could alleviate some of the bounce by mounting it in the holder sideways and using lots of bungees to help secure it. I don't have the strength to put it on the Burbs roof.

Water weight is about 8lbs per gallon so that tote if full could weigh nearly 300lbs. The spare tire and holder might be another 50lbs or so. I have seen plenty of those totes on the back of trailers but I think more often they are mounted to ladders.

The other risk you have with that bumper is not the vertical weight but the rotational pull could twist the bumper away from the trailer. A buddy of mine had a bike rack with a few bikes do just that and lost a bike in the process.

You might get lucky and find a customer service rep at the manufacturer that could actually answer the question but don't hold your breath.

Sorry I don't have any real intel here.

Good luck.

Mount-n-lock has several solutions for your issue…. I have used them several times on my RV bumper and it worked very well. You can replace your bumper, boost the weight carrying capability, all kinds of things.

Hi I put on a Bumper Upgrade kit, you can find that on Amazon, also on there you can find the Tank Holding Brackets.
