Re: Picking up new Dutchmen Denali 287re today!

Everything went great. No rain! This trailer is a replacement of our 2012 outback, from the dealership. They placed our new Denali door to door with our outback so we could easily move from one to the other. We completed a walk through and crawled all over the Denali before signing for it (been through this before). Everything looked fine. Tested all the water, gas and electrical systems. Crawled underneath, through and ontop of the unit. I'll upload some pics when I'm on my computer. Too bad you can't upload in here using an iPad. Thanks y'all....

Looking good! The rain will come when you get to the campground! On our two trips I've had to pack it up wet both times ;--thumbd

Re: Picking up new Dutchmen Denali 287re today!

We plan on bringing her home this week and "camp" in the driveway and check her out. Can't wait! This rig comes "gratis" of Camping World. Lets hope she stands up to the test....

Re: Picking up new Dutchmen Denali 287re today!

So, we "camped" in our driveway this weekend. Lol. It was really quite fun actually.

I was able to crawl all over the unit and check her out. Covered the vents on top with MaxFlo covers. Recaulked where they did a sloppy job caulking over one of the slides. Also calked where they missed a few spots on the side of one slide. Zip tied up the wires going to the brakes is they didn't "swing" from the axels. That's about it though. Everything looked great! The best thing to us was the AC kept her relatively cool inside running only 1 AC unit (we had her built with 50 amp service with 2 AC's) when it was 93 degrees and humid outside! The rig is really insulated quite well!

I also "customized" it by adding a flat panel in the bedroom, LED lights around the underbelly (these are nice for night, makes the u it "glow" from underneath.

The bedroom is very comfortable and there is actually plenty of room to move around with the slide out bed, leaving plenty of floor space to navagation in the bedroom. The outside storage is a bit cramped though but manageable. Also, the outside "porch" light uses a white bulb, inviting all the flying bugs right up to the door. We will be replacing that bulb with a yellow one.

Over all we really like this unit. It looks and feels like a much better constructed unit compared to our Outback that it replaced. Way better insulated too. It pulls really nice and love the graphics on it.

Please keep us informed of how the new unit is working out. That is one beautiful trailer.

Re: Picking up new Dutchmen Denali 287re today!

Sounds like the "Driveway" campout went well. Love to see a night pic when the underbelly lights are on.

Very nice set up.

Thanks for sharing.
