Yes, but how much is piece, of mind worth.
I certainly wouldn't do the upgrade if we were still only doing 5K miles or less a year, but since I retired our shortest trip has been 12K. Having to adjust the brakes 4 or more times a trip is not my idea of retirement.
This big box that I drag around behind us seemed to chew up the brakes twice as fast as every other trailer we have towed.

We are still well under 5k per year. Maybe one day but at $1500 +/- per wheel, I'll use the $9k elsewhere for now

I don't know where you got your quote, it cost me $2500 for the whole meal deal. Two new 6000# axles, 4 rotors, 4 sets of pads, acctuator and the wet bolt kit.
I do believe the brake parts were on sale at etrailer when I ordered them. The axles bearings and wet bolt kit came from an axle shop near home.

Yes and I'll bet the rotors are manufactured in the same plant in China.

I see Kodiak on etrailer for $414 per axle. Did you run individual brake lines to each or one trunk line split off to each?

One line from the actuator teed at the first axle to the second axle.
You probably have a lot of options on where you could mount the actuator, so your plumbing could be much closer to the axles. I looked at a couple of options but didn't feel like adding a big fab job to the project.
