Norcold N10D 12v refer - Real world experience

Hi,
My 2021 28SBH has a Norcold N10D 12v refer. The 12v is new to me as I've only ever used the duals in the past.

Any real world experience with one, how are they, reliability, etc?

What about battery life? We will dry camp a couple of times a year and based on the factory rating of 8-9 Ah, It's going to get my 80Ah battery down to 50% pretty quick overnight.

I plan on upgrading the battery and grabbing a solar kit/generator but want to know if I need to shoot for 200Ah, or will actual drain be less due to cycling (if it actually cycles).

200 amp hours is only good for 10 to 20 hours of run time, assuming nothing else is using 12 volt power.

Better go for 400 amp hours if you want to dry camp for a few days. That is why most people use propane for refer.

I have played around with 12V Danfoss (Secop) compressor fridges for several years. Your fridge only draws 4-5 amps. In my experience, it is under 50% duty cycle to keep the fridge cold, but that can vary on a lot of things.

50-60AH should keep that fridge cold for 24 hrs.
