New trailer

Hello All,
I have a question, we just picked up our new 278rls. We have these round plastic disks on the ceiling. They turn and open and close, are these vents or are they returns for the heat? Thanks for any and all help.

Yes, those are your vents for the A/C. Turn the fan on and you'll discover which vents have the best flow (not all are always the same). You may also want to do this to knock the dust, styrofoam bits and such out that are probably hiding in your ductwork.

Your dealer should have done a walk-thru with you turning everything on and off... showing you how things work. If you bought from a private seller, then you may be forced to do a little trial and error or find a knowledgeable friend to help you out.

Enjoy your new camper!!

Thank You very much for your answer. That's what I thought they were just wanted to confirm. The dealer did a walk threw with us but he is new to the RV sales department and wasn't much help. Thankfully we have had a trailer before so we have a general understanding of how stuff works.

Have you had to change an interior light bulb in the dome lights yet? We are having tons of trouble trying to figure out how to get the burned out light bulb out.

What do the lights look like? Is it a glass disc up there or what?

Those bulbs pull straight out. Just give them a good tug.

you pull the glass part out not the white plastic the plastic is the socket the bulb has no base just glass. If this helps pulling the plastic will not release the bulb.

Might need a pair of pliers wrapped in duct tape to pull them out. I always use a bit of dielectric grease on mine when I put them in. Now would be a good time to swap to LED, cooler and pull a WHOLE lot less power.

Aaron,

Do the LED bulbs from your link plug into the fixtures like our Voltage has...just two little holes for the bulb leads?

Want to do this upgrade. Just not sure if its bulbs or whole fixtures.

Thanks,

Pirate

For what it's worth....we purchased these and are VERY HAPPY with them:

10x Warm White 48 5050 LED Festoon Dome Door Box Light Panel Interior Bulb J008 | eBay

They have sticky tape on the back and come with the T-10 adapters.

I used similar LEDs in my last rig and was happy with them. In fact, I pulled them all out when I traded in. I need to get around to installing them.

If the fixtures are like the ones I have, they are plug and play.

I am in the process of upgrade my truck to leds. You replace just the bulb. When you put the led in if it does not work flip it over.

I see that Super Bright LEDs has LED bulbs for about every application.

https://www.superbrightleds.com/

Just have to take a bulb out and see which type it is.
