Manually Opening Slide Out

I own a 2016 Aspen Trails 2720 RKS. Returning home from a trip last weekend I had a tire blow it's tread. Did quite a bit of damage: Destroyed the fender trim and supports, pulled a group of 4 wires loose and may possibly have damaged some piping that ran over the top of those wheels (yet to check that).

When I got home and tried to open the slide out, the switch just clicked. So I deduced that the loose wires were involved in the slide out. Everything else seems to work. I also realized that I didn't know how to manually open the slide out. I have yet to get any info on-line or from others of how the slide out that I have works.

Anyone that knows the operation of this slide out I would appreciate some input.
This weekend I'll be investigating how to get those 4 wires back where they belong and make that repair. Still need to know how to manually open and close that slide out.

Thanks

Sorry to hear of your issues… I’ve had a tire blow out myself in the past.

In order for anyone to be able to assist you, we need to know what type slideout mechanism you have. Different types are used, even on models built in the same year.

Is it cable driven, gear & track, or something else? Do you know where the electronic control box or module is located? If so, can you get a picture of it with the information printed on it?

Without at least some of that basic info, chances are you’ll have to take it to a service center to have a tech check it out.

Sorry to hear about your issues. Tom is correct, any information you can give would help.

Frank

PS... Was it one of the tires that came with the unit?

It is a track and gear mechanism. I have not found the electronic control box. I obviously don't know much about slide outs. I'll get some pictures.

Frank, I'm not sure if the tires came with the unit. It's a 2016 model that we've had for about 18 months. The tires appear to be in good shape. But the tire didn't actually blow out. It lost it's tread, still held air. Tread flew off of about 1/2 the circumference of the tire. That's what did all of the damage.

Everyone, I really appreciate the effort that you have put forth in trying to help me figure this out.

It is an electric rack and pinion.

Seems that they all have a little twist in how they are retracted or opened.
It looks like the shaft sticks out at each end and has a hole that goes through it.
I'm thinking that by putting a rod through that hole and turning it the shaft will turn, thereby turning the gears and moving the slide. The shaft on both ends has the hole in it, so I may have to turn 1 end a little and then the other a little.

Sound right?
