Dutchmen Classic (or Dutchmen Dutchmen) Owners

Good morning!

So we are looking at a Dutchmen Classic 315 BHDS. After doing a lot of research, we were not able to find any information on this model even on Dutchmens website. All we could find was information on the other branded models, such as Denali, Coleman, etc.. the other makes that the majority of people seem to have.

I called Dutchmen this morning and found out that Dutchmen stopped making these which is why there isn't any information easily accessible. She did point me to the archive though, and I was able to find out some more information.

there are only 5 units of this type/model across the country for sale on RV Trader. We are hoping this means they were just good units and therefore not many are being sold - but who knows.

are there any other Dutchmen Classic owners out there? or as commonly referred to as "Dutchmen Dutchmen" not any of the other brands?

if you have a 'Classic" or a "Dutchmen Dutchmen" how do you feel about your trailer?

thank you!

Perhaps post a few pics of the trailer? Might help us let you know if anyone around us has one, and isn't a member of this forum.

2014 Dutchmen Dutchmen 315BHDS, Akron OH - - RVtrader.com

yep - its similar to the aspen trail. it looks like the Dutchmen one is a little more 'premier' in materials though. Hubs went and did an apples to apples comparison, and the Dutchmen seems more solid than the aspen trail one. not saying aspen trail is bad, it's just a quality thing - one is a little better than the other. He did some video compares too which was nice.

The dealer is iffy - though probably not near as bad as most. We hired a 3rd party to do a PDI with us(me) - and he was thorough and tested everything for operation as well as checked for leaks and any issues that might lead to leaks. It was nice to have a professional who knew what he was looking for, and wasn't getting a kick back from the dealer. They all are about the bottom dollar. We are requesting a few things fixed on the PDI - but this is a used unit, so some things are to be expected. It needed resealed in a few places, and some minor things addressed.

If all goes well, we will pick it up tomorrow. I will be rather happy about that.. so tired of looking and researching and the sleepless nights. Ready to get Camping!

we opted to take it as is, after the 3rd party inspection - and the 3rd party person is who we will take the trailer to for repairs we can't do ourselves. I really liked him, and feel he is trustworthy - as well as having a quick turnaround time compared to the dealer which could be weeks to months lost with a camper in the shop. I am thinking of changing careers - going into RV repair could be very lucrative..

Sweet, it will be less stressful after a giant glass of wine on your first night camping.
