Denali Pull Behind

Hi - we bought our 2012 Denali 289RK last May from Camping World. We have been on several trips, but have not seen any other Denali trailers so we are wondering - are there any Denali owners out there??

Re: Denali Pull Behind

I'm glad to hear that. We just must not have that many around here. Was beginning to think we had a brand that produced exactly one trailer. We always look through each campground we're at and I always watch for trailers while driving. Just don't see them.

Re: Denali Pull Behind

The 289RK has both slides on the same side. It took awhile to learn that you have to set up with the driver's side of the unit about one half or full bubble high in order to allow the weight of the slides to bring the trailer level. Seems weird when most sites we go to are essentially level that we have to jack up that left side. On the plus side of that is that things seem to stay put inside when we are driving so the ride must be nice inside.

Re: Denali Pull Behind

Having minor problems with the trailer. Last time out, my wife noticed some dampness on the carpet which I chased down to the city water dripping inside the trailer at the city water inlet. Since the hose itself was leaking and not the connection, I replaced it with a 20 inch riser from Home Depot (4.95). Saved having to take it to Camping World and having to deal with the seamy underbelly of the RV World.

Re: Denali Pull Behind

I know of at least one other 289 RK....ours up here in Spokane, WA.
Its a great floor plan isn't it? We have not been camping in ours yet, as we had to put it into storage for winter the day after we bought it. Sure looking forward to spring though.
The water leak that you had was no part of blame of the trailer, right? It was leaking into the wall at the connection outside????

Likely pulling the trigger on a Denali 311BH TT tomorrow. We really like features that you get for the money with the Denali. JC

Re: Denali Pull Behind

Thanks. I debated long and hard over whether to go with a trailer that is vacuum bonded but when I google searched delamination, I got hits for mostly Keystone Outback and ironically, Jayco and Forest River products, which are vacuum bonded. So the vacuum bonded units might be better in theory but in practice, doesn't seem to be the case. I'm sure there are more cases of Dutchmen products delaminating than are on the web, but that was enough to convince that as long as I do proper inspections and maintenance, I should be fine.

Re: Denali Pull Behind

Does anyone know if there is a swing type bumper-mounted BBQ that can be purchased for the Denali and Dutchmen TT’s with the back carrier rack?

Also looking for some good suggestions on what and where to buy some decent exterior protection products – thinking a polymer based protectant or similar.

Congratulations on your new rig! Are you somewhere that, weather permitting, you will be able to take it out or will you have to wait for it to warm up?

Re: Denali Pull Behind

Try Bills Bumper Q

Also, the grills used on most RVs are either RVQ or Sidekick

You could try a Keystone Dealer in your area for the bumper mount. The Keystone part # is 294928. The price usually runs between $160.00-180.00 delivered.

Our 2012 aerolite came with the bumper mount and the BBQ, RVQ ?? I think. My guess would be to start with your dealer. I have an Sidekick with the hanger for the side of the trailer I kept from our last trailer, works well. I'll figure out which one I like the best once we get a couple of outings behind us. Here is the link for the sidekick grill:

I use 303 Aerospace protectant, work really well for me. What are you trying to protect?

Cheers

Re: Denali Pull Behind

Thanks guys for the links. When I pick up on Saturday I'll ask the dealer if they can get one like Bill's or the Keystone version. If not, I'll just head to Keystone myself - they are right across the street! lol

As for the protectant, I wanted to try to do something similar to the $1000 Diamond Kote application they try to sell you. I figure I have got to be able to find a way to do it cheaper myself!

Re: Denali Pull Behind

Just picked up the trailer from the dealer. Gotta say though, I am a little disappointed. They said they were 99% sure ours was coming with a black front but it is a white front. I know it's not a huge deal, I just liked that the black made it a bit different so it wouldn't look like every other trailer on the road. Plus my truck is black. They also said that the black tends to show the bugs worse - is that true? I would have thought it would be the opposite. Anyway, maybe when the come out with a fiberglass front cap, I'll get one put on.
