so this little 1/4 inch drive bendy rod is suppose to move that giant slide-out?

Yep it does. Takes quite a few turns of the crank to do it though.

It is for the front slide. It goes into the motor located inside above the slide behind some access panels. You need a drill to us it.

The large slide is operated by the large hand crank. It connects
to the slide main screw located outside under the living room window.
