Cracked Dinette Top

First time we've ever had someone sleep in the dinette, and the table top cracked when they rolled over. Now we're short a night's sleep, and we need to replace the table top. (It's beyone repair).

The table measures roughly 27x36. Any suggestions on where I could order one, or how to make one? I'm handy, but not a woodworker. (I went to our local dealer, and they quoted $475 for a replacement - not going to happen!)

Get a piece of 3/4 plywood and use the old table as a pattern to cut the new one. Sand and paint the new one. Move the hardware from the old one.

I second the above post. You can even apply press and stick tiles for some style. It really doesn't take any specialized wood working skills.

An alternative to just plywood

If you want a similar looking table top you could go to a local shop that does laminated tops like a place that does custom office work stations. They could build you one which is strong enough not to break and nice plastic edges. I had one built once for less than $200.00

Ditto to above replies. Find a good cabinet shop and have them make one. They also have different laminates that you can pick from. Use the old hardware or upgrade it. Dutchmen used two 4 inch metal pipes on our table for legs, very cumbersome to remove and replace. Got a "French Cleat" and folding leg on Amazon to replace the metal pipes Dutchmen used. Now the table is very easy to remove/replace and the folding leg is much, much better than the poor design Dutchmen used.

Check out trekwood.com, if you want an exact match they have tons of rv parts including replacement table tops, you can search by your year, model, etc.

We have someone locally (SW Ontario) here who makes coasters, sink covers etc out of puckboard material, much like formica countertops, etc.. he has varying thicknesses, we are considering having our table top redone at some point with it, as it is more durable, cleaner, etc...
