Coleman 334BH

Ours is 2020 had about a year and have taken several extended family trips. Tows well with R3 load leveler hitch. Considering a 2nd AC. Anybody have one installed? Also thinking of putting a tankless hot water heater in. We are loving it.

Be careful with the tankless hot water heater stuff. Couple of drawbacks are that you only have 30 amps to work with and not 220 but 110. When dry camping, batteries will be dead in matter of minutes.

Thanks

Thank you
I've been looking at the LP tankless heaters.
Ours is a 50 amp setup and is "prewired" for 2nd AC. I'm not even sure where the 2nd ac would be installed though.

Is there an outlet near the bedroom vent?

There isn't a vent in the front bedroom. There is one in the bunkhouse though.

The pre-wiring will determine the "where". Contact a Coleman dealer service department. The User's manual is a joke. Don't bother with it.

So, there are three rooms in the trailer. Where does the temperature get too high?

Your existing A/C may have ducts leading to the three different rooms, or may a vent directly from the ceiling. Do ducts lead to the three rooms?

Is there more than one thermostat for heating and cooling?

The optional second air conditioner may occupy the same place as an existing roof vent.

Yes the front bedroom and bunkhouse have sliding doors. The current ac is ducted to all three areas with a single thermostat in central living area.
It is a Dometic 13500btu unit. I am thinking of replacing it with a 15000btu unit and moving the other to the secondary location. I assume a ceiling control and vent will have to be used.

heat pump

I'm thinking of replacing the bedroom A/C with either a heat pump style A/C or an inverter mini-split. Both are significantly more efficient than a regular A/C. I'm almost 100% off grid, so that matters to me.
