Awning rafter knob - OOPS

DW and I did something dumb last weekend while camping. While taking down our awning we unscrewed one of the rafter knobs right out of the awning. Oops !

These knobs screw into a metal piece that travels up and down the rafters. Anyway the knob AND the metal piece came out. See picture...

Now trying to figure out how to get the metal piece and knob back in without a major awning disassembly job. Silly huh?

Ken,

It is pouring rain or I would go out and look, but I think it will slide in from the bottom end of the rail it came out of.

Ken, we did the same thing this past weekend but we did it with both! In our defense, it was our first outing with our travel trailer. Yes, we found we could slide the metal piece into the rail without disassembling anything.

I know what you mean. We're hoping to get at least one more trip in before it gets cold!
