Another newbie slide question

Just bought this Dutchman about a month ago and never noticed this slide till I was outside having a beer looking at the camper. I see there is roller on each side of the slide is that to act like a adjustment? Can see the top left of the slide seal showing. Thank you!

A photo of the roller would help a lot. While the slide is out look and see if you can determine why the primary seal is out of place. It may be rotted and what you see is what is being pressed up and out instead of being flattened against the secondary seal, if it has one.

Then ,when you have time create a signature line with the specifics of the RV so we'll know what we're talking about.

That is a slide roller and it does look to be adjustable. Are both rollers equal in height?

Look on the inside also. I would suspect two or possibly more rollers per side.

That roller is really not meant to support the entire weight of the slide. It looks like you may have an Accu Slide. Does the slide have cables on the sides or a large arm underneath with gears?

It has tracks on the bottom of the slide like it's gear driven

That's interesting Frank. What would support the slide to keep it off the floor in your estimation? Not one roller for sure but maybe several rollers for support?

You are correct, there would be several rollers and the slide would roll on the rollers until it went all the way out then it would "tilt" forward ( kick down from the top) and rest on the frame, not the rollers should he have a rack and pinion type of slide.

I have 8 or 10 rollers on my 12 foot slide, four or five non-adjustable on the frame rail. Four or five on the bottom of the slide floor on what would be the inside of the slide. When all is right with the world the slide sits on these rollers regardless of where it is.
I had the dealer cut a bound up Schwintec system from the 12 footer. There was a pile of rod and gears on the ground under the unit. The point being nothing but the rollers were supporting the slide proper. The amazing thing was he used one hand to extent the slide and then retract it, all without a grunt.
My thought was if this thing moves so easily by hand why all the slide problems. Of course the problem is due to the improper installation of slide system.

The rollers play an important part of supporting the slides.
Not sharpshooting here, just open discussion.

do the rollers support the slide (on yours) when it is extended out? When I looked at the slide when they had it out of the coach, the slide sat on the frame when it was extended. just sayin! Were your rollers supporting the slide when it was out or were they just supporting the slide until it was out? Rolling on something and not dragging on something?

Yep, they do. When I fight the rubber flap to get a look and lube the rollers the floor doesn't allow me to move the rollers at all.

I don't have the heavy rubber flap on the small slide so the rollers are exposed for lubrication. There are tracks on the bottom of the floor that shows where the rollers roll. Actually the fiber coating on the bottom of the floor has a little damage from the rollers and a small amount of floor is exposed. Another problem down the road I suppose.

I might add, on both slides, the rollers are screwed to the top of the frame rail. That is a concern for me in the event the roller breaks or a screw comes loose. How would one repair that problem without removing the slide itself?

When they installed the rollers when I had the slide issue (at CW) they cut the rubber off and then they tried to screw the rollers down and the screws are all Fk's up. I then made them pull the slide out and fix it as well as fixing the slide issues and replacing the rubber seal on the bottom. Slide issues make me cringe!

the rollers on the "easy chair" side of the coach have made marks on the fake wood floor.

All I have is two rollers and a motor with a rod that spina both gears. I would call it a rack and pinion set up

I suppose you could level the RV and then loosen the roller bolts on the sagging side and jack it level again.

The first photo from the other day of the roller gives the impression one bolt is different from the other. I can't tell but is the head broken off the bolt?
