291resl Bedroom TV Mount

I am a proud new owner of a 2016 Kodiak 291resl (although the dealership still has it, and it has been a month since we bought it).

There is a TV mounting location in the bedroom and I wanted to know what kind of mount/tv I can put there.

I would assume that there is a weight limit, anyone know what it is?

Do you have to use a specific mount from the dealer, or can you just go out and get an articulating or flush mount?

It should hold any tv that will fit in the space, I bought my mounts online.
My outside tv stays up while traveling so I took the panel off and reinforced it. Did the same thing with the inside one, but I can take that tv down in 10 seconds and throw it on the bed for travel.

They are all just held up by 1"x4" pine if that tells you anything...

I use the Sanus wall mounts, and these can be found at Wal-Mart or any other store for that matter. Just need to know what size TV you want and you match that up to the wall mount, as different mounts for different size TV's. The good thing is that today's TV's are super light in weight. I think both of my TV's are 32", inside is a flat wall mount and the outdoor is an articulating one. Both are capable of taking TV's out in minutes when putting it away for winter storage, if you have to like I do!

I've got the same model, 2014 edition and I mounted a 24" flat screen/dvd combo. We've gone on a dozen trips with no issues at all.
Just make sure you use a stud finder to locate all four edges of the wall support. The sticker is supposed to be centred over it, but it's not.
And don't use the screws that come with the wall mount you use, they'll be too long and you'll pierce your shower stall wall. I just brought new ones that we're the longest I could use without going through the shower wall.

Enjoy your new trailer.

If you go a little longer on the screws, you can hang a shower caddy from them.

Just make sure they're stainless steel

What size screw did you end up using?

Or since the dealer still has it see what they will do for a mount. Then included in the warranty.

I thought about that, but I have a lot of TVs and mounts laying around so I would feel bad buying one.

Also, I am staying in the camper this week! I decided I wanted to use it while they are waiting on parts!

I can't remember, I just measured the thickness of the wall at the doorway and went for a screw length 1/4' shorter.

Has anyone put a larger tv in the living area? Searching online I can't find the mount to just get the back plate for the tv to slide in to the existing arm that is mounted. Any idea on the manufacture of it?

You should be able to remove the back plate from the old television and use it on the new one.

check it against the new TV. The mounts have a set standard (or they are supposed to) that bolts to the back of the TV it may be a good bit smaller than the actual TV.

Got a picture of what you are working with?

Aaron is referring to the "Vesa" standard.

Nowadays almost all displays (computer and television monitors) are compliant with that standard. So if it is a Vesa compliant display, the screw holes should be spaced accordingly, even though some mounts are heavier duty than others and can look very different at first glance.

Thanks! I couldn't remember the name of the standard

IIRC there are 2 or 3 mounting sizes and most mounts will accommodate all three. The key is to making sure the weight is not an issue. However most mounts will handle any LED TV made. I just did one for my Dad, his mount was rated to 135# and his 52" LED only weighs 46#.
