Rear kitchen door goes boom
Sigh, a whole 3 trips in and the strut rips out of the pine 2"x2" it was probably screwed into.
I'm sorry I wasted my money on an Aerolite.

Oh don't let it get you down!!! Sometimes little things happen. I am sure it can be repaired. Hopefully it didn't ruin the weekend.

Haha little things...
We only bought this camper based on the fact it had one of the few outdoor kitchens available on a smaller rv. I've spent the last month fixing and repairing shoddy workmanship on this thing. I'm not a retired person who can spend 7 days a week keeping up with someone else's problems.
I'm sure the dealer will re-install a tiny 1"x"2" stud, then jam 4 little screws in it, thus cracking said tiny stud all over again.
Sorry for the rant, not really used to throwing 20k down the toilet.
The door is next, I can already see it warping when it's folded up.
Why do they have to install such aggressive struts? It's only holding up a 5 pound door. It will literally tear your head off if you accidentally let it go while it's opening up.

Check out this if you think your problem was big.

I've had two tires blow twice within ten miles of each other over the last ten years of RVing. Once it did over $4,000 worth of damage. Still nothing compared to this accident.

Maybe you just figured out the problem. They may have installed the wrong strut when it was installed. Worth bringing up to the dealer when you take it in.

Good lord, I wasn't trying to comparing it to a catastrophic accident. Just sorry I ever bought this heap, that's all. My only hope is that the outside walls don't delaminate, then it will look like crap inside and out. I'm just not used to throwing this amount of money out the window, how ever small it may seem to some.

That is entirely possible. Take a look at the strut, it may have the weight they support printed on the barrel.
I had a problem when I swapped out the bed platform. The struts were find for the K3 platform, when I replaced it with plywood they were too strong and the plywood platform wouldn't stay closed.

Hey, no one is here to belittle you, we all work hard for our money to enjoy our RV's. I personally work 50 plus hours a week. Most everyone on this site is here to help and to communicate with each other.
I hate seeing someone so upset, we all have had problems. All trailers have problems. Unfortunately its part of RV'ing. But rest assured, your kitchen door can be fixed. After that hopefully you wont feel like you tossed you money out the window. You have a nice RV, get it fixed and enjoy the outdoors!

RV is in the shop. Mechanic said that in 18 years of doing this, he's never seen a fridge leak the way ours is, so that's comforting.
Hopefully everything gets sorted out...

There's another thread somewhere. Somehow it's leaking between the back wall and the cooling block, water is pouring out all the screw holes on the back. In addition to the delaminated bathroom counter top and spider cracking on the fiberglass nose cone.

AHHHHH.... I could not understand why you were so upset about the kitchen door.. Now I understand, and I feel your pain. You have a compiled list of issues... (Maybe be a little more clear while your venting steam so we can understand.. )
Stay tough with you dealer, and hopefully they will get you all fixed up. To me, it sounds like the worst of your problems is the front cap. Do you have any pictures? They can be replaced, so don't let the dealer fool you!
Good luck with getting everything fixed and keep us posted of the progress. I am very curious about your fridge, so be sure to let us know the outcome.
Though my issues were less then yours, my dealer did stand behind my TT and fixed everything I had for them. Hopefully you have the same treatment!

After being at the dealers for 2 weeks, I finally got a call, Norcold is replacing the fridge. The new bathroom counter top is in, the new struts are on order, the cracked nose cap still needs to be fixed. Looks like 3 weeks + till I get it back.

Did they change the struts to less force one? Hope they get you fixed up completely.

Thanks. I assume the struts will be less force, as the mechanic said they were still on order. All I know is I just missed some of the best weather ever for camping.
It's at the auto body shop getting the nose cracks fixed. Still waiting on the fridge and struts...

If anyone cares, they installed new struts and the door doesn't lift you off the ground when you open it.
