New hinges for overhead storage

Hi all - we are proud new owners of an Aerolite Luxury 298 - sooo happy with it so far - EXCEPT - our former trailer (a Heartland) had hinges on the overhead storage doors that would actually STAY open for a bit - when you are stocking the cabinet or searching for a can of soup!!

Kind of difficult to stock things today with one hand - LOL

Anyone know where to buy these hinger? Hubby is pretty handy and I'm sure he can switch them out before our first big trip in April
thanks

Hello I have a Aerolite 213RBSL and had the same problem. I fixed as shown in this post. Not sure of it will work for you, but my wife loves it :-)

Sorry the first link was for another modification I made - this is for what you want.

I used these, they put them on the front cabinets on our motor home, but not the bedroom ones.

After our recent trip the wife and I have been talking about doing this same thing to 4 of our overhead storage compartments.

have found resources

Have learned these hinges are manufactured by RV Designer - and they have a website - but learned on that site that many/most(?) of the RV repair shops and dealers stock them or - at least - can get them in a couple of days. We tried Camping World first and they had the best price but were out of stock - a local repair shop can get them for us for about $1 per pkg of 2 and that seemed fair. Good luck!

Howdy,

Picked up a few of these the other day, I may get ambitious and install them today. They do seem pretty stiff though...

Thanks,
BT

I get part numbers from the various manufacturers websites, then do Google searches for them. I have gotten a lot of stuff from Tweety's RV, RV Upgrades and Amazon. The local Camping World doesn't do well with stocking or special orders. I do special orders from a semi-local Airstream/FR dealer about an hour from me. I can call them with the numbers, they give me the price and order it. I pick it up the next time I come through.
