Loud door

Has anyone had a problem with their door making noise? I have a 2016 kodiak 291resl and the door is stiff to keep the wind from catching it, but it seems like it keeps getting stiffer and has started making noise. I think the trailer is really close to level, would the tt not being perfectly lever cause this?

Does the door have the gas shock on it?

That's not the problem then. What is it that keeps the door from banging against the wall when the wind catches it?

It's a simple process, noise is caused by vibration and vibration is caused by resistance. Locate the resistance and the noise will go away. Also you will mitigate the stress on the noise producing item.

If a leveling jack is out of adjustment it could cause a bind in the door frame thereby causing the the noise. Regardless, something is causing the noise and in doing so damage is being done each time the door is operated.

Captain,

What kind of noise are you dealing with?

If it is getting stiffer with use, it sounds like the hinges are getting road dirt and grime in them.
As they get dirty, they get stiffer and noisier.

Try some lubricating them silicone spray. Give them a good blast, swing the door some as you are spraying the hinges so the lube can work itself in. Let it sit for awhile, then give it another shot.

Our old Airstream was bad for grinding and groaning as the hinges got dirty. It became one of the routine maintenace items that I do a couple of times a year now.
