Front Cap Slideout
The front cap on my Kodiak 291resl has started to delaminate. I talked to a local dealer and they wanted around $10k to replace the front cap and a small part of the wood on the roof. I have seen some video online and while it looks like a lot of work it does seem doable for much less than what they want to charge.
We love the layout of the 291resl but want a larger bedroom. We looked for the same layout with a large bedroom and could only find it on 40+ feet trailers.
This got me thinking... If I were to remove the front cap and relocate and add more supports, could I make a small slideout for the bed like some other travel trailers have on the back. In the out position it could be supported by the tongue of the trailer. The slideout can slide on the existing bed. Has anyone done anything like this?
