Flip jack

Brand new to all this. Have a Coleman cts16qb. Trailer at storage. Went to camping world to purchase flip jack. They had no way to tell me what size I needed. So we got the 2" hoping it was correct. Anyone know if this is the right size. We are trying to leave Friday and camping worl is 45 minutes the other way.

Re: Flip jack

Welcome to the group.

I don't see it listed on the Standard Features, but being it's a 16' trailer, I'd have to say a the 2" flip jack is correct.
If in doubt, call Camping World. If they have a camper in inventory, ask someone to measure the jack tube. If your trailer is stored outdoors, call the attendant at the storage facility. Ask them to measure it.
Remember, these jacks are measured at the outer tube.

Re: Flip jack

Which Height Flip Jack do I need?

With the trailer hitched as you usually tow:

- If there is 8" to 10" from the bottom of the outside jack tube to the ground use a 4" tall Flip jack foot.

- If there is more than 10" from the bottom of the outside jack tube to the ground use a 6" tall Flip jack foot.

General Rule
Average height person with trailer coupled to tow vehicle:

- If the top of your trailer frame sits above the bottom of your knee cap you probably need a 6" tall Flip jack foot.

- If it sits below the bottom of your knee you probably need a 4" tall Flip jack foot.

Re: Flip jack

Just installed mine last week and it works great. My only problem was finishing off the 1/2" hole with my underpowered battery operated drill. It went through 2 complete charge cycles to finish the task. I almost ordered the 2" flip jack when in fact I needed the 2 1/4" which fits the 2" inner jack post.

We have one too. The word of caution I have. Make sure to chock the front side of your wheels on the trailer. Read the safety packet and adhere to it. You don't want your trailer to roll forward and fold that jack. I love ours.
Also, If you are going to store your trailer for a long period of time. It's not a bad Idea to fold the jack per instructions and place it on a board. Just my two cents. I'm overly cautious though. LOL
