Cutoff Switch for Kodiak 221 RBSL

Just in case someone might be interested here is pictures of a Cutoff Switch I "Cobbled" together for our 2013 Kodiak 221 RBSL.
Bought the Kill Switch at Advance Auto here in Sebring, Florida (about $14.00) bought the Ceiling Box (Plastic) at Lowes & the Red Positive cable (30"-# 4 AWG) also at Advance Auto ($5.00).
Would have liked the Red Positive Cable to be #8 AWG but they did not have it, the smaller cable would have been much easier to bend & store.
Anyway all works and when I store the unit in the RV Storage Area I can kill the power back to the unit, otherwise I had to open the battery box, get a wrench & disconnect the cable, kind of of tiresome and a PITA. The key stays in the box when using the unit & remove it when storing the unit. I never like leaving the power on for several reasons;
1.) After a week or two the battery gets real low & this is hard on them.
2.) We have a power jack & someone could easily come by & try it possibly damaging the Power Jack or if you have the stabilizers down it could damage your frame.
Anyway for what its worth I have included pictures on here.

Very nice work! And thanks for the pictures too! I wish I had room on the frame for 2 batteries. Are yours 6 volt batteries? And what is the "ceiling box" that you refer to?

Dave.

Thanks Ernie...great pics and write up. I store my batteries in the garage during winter storage and check them weekly. Put a charger on them when they run low.

Sorry Dave, I should have been more explicit in this, the "Ceiling Box" is a Plastic Electric Box used for Ceiling Lights in a dwelling, I used it as it seemed like a better box to accomodate the Kill Switch. My batteries are 12 Volt wired in Parallel. We really do like the two batteries even though we do not do much "Off the Grid" Camping but do stay at Walmarts & Flying "J's" when going back to Canada (our permanent home).
