Cable/Satellite in camper

Im headed out this weekend and the campground said that they only have satellite (directv). I have 2 connections on the side and 1 is labeled satellite and nothing on the other. I have tried both and only the "satellite" port will work the tv in the livingroom. So my question is can I hook up directv to the side and it work just like the cable does? I only ask because the lady said it wont work through cable wiring. I also have found out that the connection in the bedroom and the one on the awing side wont work, don't know whats up with that. I hope that all makes sense.

How does a campground have direct tv? How would you change channels with no receiver in the camper? Either it's early or i'm missing something.

She is right about satellite not working through the cable hookup, I had to run a wire specifically for our direct tv dish.

I'd treat it like a cable tv connection. Set my tv to cable input then do a channel scan and see what pops up.

A campground is just a flat hotel/motel and they use satellite TV. You don't see too many of those ten foot antennae back in the corner lot of the motels anymore. They all don't have cable so satellite it is.

Check out the south side of motels some day. All kinds of antennae back there, sat TV, sat Internet, cell and wireless.

sorry to not get back with yall. I didn't hook up the satellite. The way she explained it to me is there are posts that you hook up the box to and then to the camper. Don't think we will do that campground again so don't know how good it works.
