Question Aerolite 174ES/204ES

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum. My wife and I currently have a Coachman fifth wheel and over the next year or so are looking to downsize significantly. We are looking at the expandable travel trailers and really like the Aerolite 174ES and 204ES. Anyone have any experience with these trailers? Likes or dislikes with either of them. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I have a 24RS. I wanted a rear bath by the door so I didn't need to trudge through the entire camper to use the toilet. It has a slide out and side to side storage under the front mounted bed. It has a rear couch with and a double sink. My last camper had just an icebox within the fridge, so I wanted a true two door. Inside and outside sound system. Stove with an oven. It had a rod for hanging clothes, but I changed that to shelves (much more usable for me). I also replaced the rear bumper with an 84 inch storage box to keep outside stuff, outside. Currently (today) changing the straight bath curtain to be a curved, for more shoulder room.
Good Luck and happy camping.

Thanks for the reply, can't find the 24RS floorplan though. I will keep looking.

As you didn't state why you are wanting to down size , here are some things to think about. If you don't have kids & not planning on any do you need all the sleeping room of the 174 or 204ES ? Maybe the 218RBLS would work ? RV's with side slides will all ways feel larger than ones that are longer with no slides. TT tow different then 5th wheels. Double check the rating of your hitch and you will need a equalizing hitch to tow with. Sell your 5th wheel to a private party as you will get more for it then trading it in.

DesertRat, thanks for the reply. We are looking at a lot of different floorplans and models. I certainly prefer towing a fifth wheel but we currently have a 40 footer and we simply want to get back to camping. My son does travel with us occasionaly as he lives with his mother so the extra sleep space is great. I have a 3500 dually paid off so towing is not an issue. That 218RLBS is certainly an interesting setup.

Have you thought about down sizing to a smaller 5th wheel ? 244RLX floor plan is very popular to quite a few different manufactures.

We just purchased an Aspen Trail 2060RBS and love it. We looked at a bunch of TT's for over a year before settling on this one. It's great for two and one grandchild at a time. The floor plan works out great and plenty of storage and wardrobe space, ducked a/c with digital control thermostat, floor heat, 6.3 CF refer, elec slide & awning, and the list goes on. The fit and finish was better than most. We're really pleased with our choice and you might check it out, that is if you haven't already purchased yet?
Keep us posted and good luck,
Bob
