213RBSL Shower Door Options

Hey fellow 213 Owners,

Has anyone looked at replacing that crazy swing open shower door that makes you straddle the toilet to open the door? If so what options have you looked and chosen?

My SO just showed me this.... looks interesting but I think I favor a good old sliding door if I can find one.

https://www.stoett.com/product-categ...s-shower-door/

Would appreciate your input and ideas!

I still can't picture how you have to jump over the toilet to get into the shower
My door does hit the toilet, it has worn the porcelain off a little.

I do like the look of that roll up door, that would make the bathroom seem even more huger than it already is. That 2 sided tape seems a little sketchy to me, although a good caulk job would help.

This fat butt ain't jumping over anything

But if the bathroom door is closed the only way to get into the shower is to straddle both legs over the toilet so you can open the door until it hits the toilet and then step into the shower. Its a real PIA. If the bathroom door is open, yes you can just open and step into the shower.

Great shower, but the door leaves so much to be desired.....

True on the double tape, caulk would be needed for sure!

Dang it! I showed it to the wife and she wants it, that rarely happens. My only other concern it how firm the screen is. On our giant door opening is it going to stay rigid, or will it look like a bed sheet hanging there. I think we would leave it closed up (stretched across) most of the time so it looked like we still had glass doors.

UPDATE: I called Stoett and they are going to send me a sample of the "fabric" that the door is made of, they were very accommodating. I was assured that it was a good quality product, so we shall see. The more I think about it, a no out swing door sounds like a great option, especially for the price. The frames are all powder coated aluminum, so they should be super durable. I will get back when the sample arrives.

I think I read where someone reversed the swing of that shower door.

I have to admit that I just leave the bathroom door open, so easy entrance and exit from the shower. But I guess that might SHOCK someone if they unwittingly had entered my tiny house while I was showering?

I'm betting reversing the swing would be a big help though

Your shower opens towards the bathroom door?

Wazzup Wildwest?

My shower door pivots from the center of the shower. So if the bathroom door is open, then yes, the shower door opens swinging away from the bathroom door. So stepping into the shower is really easy if the bathroom door is open.

If I have the bathroom door closed, I'd have to straddle the toilet to swing the shower door open and then step in.

Now, if I reversed the shower door swing, I could stand in front of the sink and open the shower door and step in. I've always thought that should have been how the shower door was hung. And I might someday try reversing it for that reason.

Howdy! I think we've had this discussion before.
Our door is the opposite, when you step out you're facing the sink, so no toilet straddling. I do hate how it hits the toilet, I would love to get rid of that whole setup. I looked at ours, not sure a reversal would be possible.

Mine misses the toilet. I'm not sure which is the lesser of two evils? I'll probably leave it as is.

Still, I'm SO happy to have that big shower in an RV. I've been camping in the little toy hauler for a couple of months now and believe me the "normal" RV bath is a huge step down, even if entry and exit is better.

Cheers to you mate! Hope all is well with you and the missus.

Sitting on top of a mountain with my Yeti, BT speaker, and a good book to read.

It's 100F back home in the tropics. I'd die. Click image for larger version

Awesome, let me know what you think once you get a sample. My wife is pushing for this and that nice sofa/bed you installed a while back. How do you all like the bed after having it for a while?

Will do. That sofa bed was the best decision I have made with the camper yet, the only regret was not doing it from day one. Hopeful that it holds up and doesn't peel like some of the older ones do.

Haven’t had issues with my 2017 model. I don’t have to straddle the toilet to get in or out. I wish there was a little more angle on the toilet so I don’t have to wear knee pads to sit down
