2016 213RBSL Aerolite - slide out stuck inward

Hi,

Had this TT for quite a while now. Recently we had to "bug out" due to high water. Returned back to our site and now the slide out won't slide out.

It clicks in the "transmission" box where the motor is connected. Like a worm gear or something else is worn or slipping or needs replacement.

I really need assistance. Replace? How to? Or can it be manually slide out? I didn't see how. Do we have to replace the box?

Please see the attached. We really miss the space the slide out provides.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in Advance!!!

BTW - we can press the "in" button and it moves in and parks. The "out" button makes that click/worm gear out of whack sound.

Our first troubleshooting step was to replace the 5 year old batter with a Group 29 Deep Cycle. No Bueno but at least we have a new battery.

We are hooked to Shore power and have a fresh new battery.

Thanks

Until I replace the gear box (seems to be the culprit) how do I manually slide this guy out and in? I read about the controller. Where would that be on my TT? Thanks

Manual

There is manual slide out method. There should be a bent handle that came with the trailer. The tip slides onto a nut and you manually slide it out. You have to do each side separately.

Nope - no manual override on this guy. Cables, Pulleys, gearbox and motor. I'm very intimate with this system now. Not a lot of room to work when the slide is in. Have the motor and gearbox out now. New gearbox ordered. Should be a lot easier to install with the slide 1/2 way out. Before testing I've got a lot of tweaking with the turnbuckles/tensioners to do. Fun. https://photos.app.goo.gl/oSkEQpX7AUyzCwzi8

A whole lot of trim work and molding needs to be removed to access the motor/gearbox.

Required: Phillips screwdriver, soft prybar, a square/Robertson type bit, gentle persuasion.

We’ve got the same trailer. Love it, but the slide out motor seems slightly slower than normal. Battery is good. Have looked at replacing, but dreading doing so.
The amount of disassembly to get to everything is kind of a bummer too.
Thanks for the pics and best of luck!

Received the new gearbox 2 weeks ago. It came with a new bracket. Installed the motor in the bracket and tested with an extra 12V car battery I had. Worked great. I'll be installing it this weekend. The install should be easy. The tweaking of the pulley cables will be the hard part.
