Unfortunately, as a working stiff I’m usually only able to take weekend trips close to home.

That’s why my travel map is just one state. I dream of the day when I retire and can put a USA travel map on the back of my trailer and head down the road to fill it out like a jigsaw puzzle.

In the mean time I’ll keep going to my favorite places which I’ve been to before…

MY TOP TEN TEXAS RV DESTINATIONS
Fredericksburg Texas Chamber of Commerce
My wife’s favorite place, shopping year round, horse races in the fall, home of Luckenbach, Texas
Big Bend Open Road Race
One of the most challenging open road races in the world, spectators man gates on the course
Lake Alan Henry
My home lake were I store my boat
Crude Fest Texas Country Music Festival
Roadhouse country music festival with on site camping
Showdown in San Angelo Drag Boat Races
Lucas Oil Drag Boat Series with starting line camping at Spring Creek Marina
Guadalupe River RV Tent Camping|Tubes on the Canyon Lake Kayaking Texas|Lazy L and L Campground
Toobin’ on the Guadalupe River
Texas Thunder | Country Music Festival | Aug 21-23, 2015 | Gardendale, TX
National country music acts with camping on site
Texas Motor Speedway NASCAR and IndyCar Racing
NASCAR Racing
TEXASTECH.COM - Texas Tech University Official Athletic Site
Tailgating Texas Tech Football
Sunset Point on Lake LBJ - Waterfront RV Spaces - Texas Hill Country - Lodging, Fishing, Boating, Swimming, Camping
Very nice RV Park on constant level Lake LBJ one hour NW of Austin, TX

Thought I would bring this up again, just to see what everyone is doing...

I leave Friday for my big trip of the year. Heading to Custer South Dakota (Big Pines Campground) for 4 days, devils tower KOA 1 night, Yellowstone @ Fishing Bridge 6 nights, then the sad three day trek home ending what I hope to be a remembrable trip.

If (and that's a BIG IF) we ever get our 5'er back from Camping World, we will be headed up to Nana & Poppy's neck of the woods to Medina, NY for 10 days at end of June/ first weeks in July.
Wife tried to talk me into doing it over New years but I convinced her that all that snow was not the best training ground to practice towing our two week old (then) Voltage.... snow should be gone now, so is my excuse

June 23rd we leave for Sun Valley/Stanley, ID area for 2 weeks. It's become an annual 4th of July trip for us and there is some great dispersed camping in that area.

Man I love the outer banks. I used to have a Hobie Cat sail boat and would sail to the deserted islands when I was stationed out there in the 80's.

Just might to have to look into that for a future trip.

We go 2-3 times a year there. It's just over an hour trip. We really enjoy it as well

Leaving friday. Four nights at ocean lakes in myrtle beach, then on to fort wilderness for eight nights if the kids dont drive me crazy. As a side note, fort wilderness said they were completely booked when inquiring about five nights but when i stretched it to eight nights sights magically opened up

Traveled to grand junction, co 10 days a week home and then off to San Juan Bautista, ca for 12 days. Lots of clouds and rain to and from Colorado but rather enjoyable. Weather in San Juan was great. Some fun restaurants and good times. Staying home for now but in July a family outing to Lake Tahoe for 10 days. Yay!!

June 18 to 27 - Fillmore, Utah - National ATV Jamboree

July 4th - head to Mackay, Idaho Lost River Rally in the Pines, then to West Yellowstone for a few days, then to Cooke City to do some trails, then to Cody to see the museums

And then I dunno, but I don't want to come home until the end of July

August 20 to Labor Day - Chaco Canyon, Petrified Forest then to Chula Vista RV park then home.

Sept 11 - 19 - Lake City, CO do spend time on the Alpine Loop while the aspens are at their peak of gold!

mid - October - Moab, UT for a week...before the KOA closes for the winter!

Not sure, but I think its going to be a busy Summer of traveling...that's what I retired for!!!

Reservations can be funny like that. I looked at air fares once from A to B. Got best deal from A to C to B. I thought, "I can drive to C" Guess what, that same plane was not bookable from C to B. But from A to C to B, it was!

We are headed to Montana. Don't know exactly where as we are playing it by ear. I don't have to be home at any special time.

Today is the first day on the road. Traveled a whopping 160 miles and found a wide open RV Park in "beautiful" Cal-Nev-Ari Nevada. Tomorrow we boon-dock at a pass I know of on Hwy 93 North of Las Vegas. Then on to Jackpot Nevada for a few days on into Idaho for a good while.

I get to learn how to fly fish. Hope I won't make to big of mess out it.
