Northern Kentucky camping suggestions?

My wife retires this summer and we are thinking of heading down to northern Kentucky for some camping in the trailer in mid to late September. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions to places to stay. And also how are the fall colours?

Just another note, having to refer to heading south to visit some place described as northern just makes me laugh.

Most of Kentucky's State Resort Park Campgrounds are good. General Butler Park is a great location for exploring The Bourbon Trail. As far as color... mid-late September will be way too early for autumn colors.. last half of October, or later is peak time for leaf-peeping.

Well Dawnie, what are some good parks in the north part of the state? I'm always up for an adventure.

Anywhere south of Kentucky is awesome. Obey River is 10 minutes from the border, right on a marina/restaurant.

Not camping... but I am in Pulaski, TN for a couple of days then beating feet back over the border to Wytheville, VA.
