10 National parks you never heard of.

SoccerLoco mentioned the black canyons, and I thought about this article I found a while back. Thought I would share.

Black canyon is really very cool. Lived in San Luis Colorado just south of the great sand dunes cool spot. In May headed to grand junction after we are done off to Capitol reef. It's amazingly beautiful country there.

Forgot to mention we live in nevada and travel through Great Basin at least twice a year. Most folks don't realize that nevada is the mountain state. There is only one other area that has as many mountains per square mile as nevada. Answer Afghanistan. The Lehman caves underneath wheeler peak 13,000 feet plus about 60 miles east of Ely nevada are really a must to checkout I can tell you boondocking doesn't get any better than in this area of nevada. Battle Borne!!

Nice article. I'll been to four on that list and some that aren't. One of the main NP that most have seen or been to is the Grand Canyon. But wondering how many have been to the North Rim? I'll take it over the South Rim any time. Way less crowds, cooler, and all kinds of roads you can take & walk right out to the edge of the canyon & be the only one there.

Congaree is right in our back yard, and looks pretty nice. However, it is tent camping only, no RVs or autos. No problem, we have many nice state parks here in SC, most with water/elec, some even with full hookups.

A couple others that didn't make the list that I liked... Palo Duro Canyon and The Painted Desert. Driven through parts of Conagree, beautiful place.
