Water Heater

We recently purchased a 2011 Denali 285 RE. The control panel above the Kitchen Counter has a slot that has been marked out that states Electric Water Heater. There is also a slot marked Gas Water Heater. The gas slot has a switch in it and the electric slot has a cover only. I looked at the water heater and it appears to be an electrical/propane model. It even shows seperate recovery rates for Electric, Gas, and Gas/Electric. I removed the panel and do not see any extra wires to be hooked up for the electrical switch. The water heater works only on gas. Does any one have any suggestions about hooking up the electric portion? I would like to have the electric capability as well as gas. Thank you, We are looking forward to our first trip in this RV. Just working out a few bugs.

Maybe the external switch located on the heater itself is the controlling switch. Look behind the access panel for the switch.

First thing we need to know is what brand/model the heater is. Then someone might be able to do the research and determine what you need to put in the electric option if it is available.
