Upgraded Toy Hauler!!

We just upgraded our small 20ft travel trailer toy hauler to a new 2017 Dutchmen Voltage Triton 2951.

We had our Avenger for about a year and a half and was no where near happy with it. When I say small I mean tiny. No storage space for food, dishes, or clothes. And a murphy bed for a "master" We called it our "weekend warrior" because any longer than a weekend we may have killed each other.

The wife (who is typing this ) had a list of requirements for a new camper and I had to have room for at least 3 full size ATVs while not overloading my F250. We ended up settling on this one and got a great deal on it from the same place we got the Avenger. Now we have had it about a week now and made a few little modifications here and there, some even stole from these forums. But have not been able to take it out yet. Hoping to be able to go out in the next few weekend.

Add pictures later.

Welcome, we traded in our Puma toy hauler travel trailer to a Dutchmen Voltage for the same reasons. Big adjustment

Nice FORD!

I assume your user name comes from the power plant?

I likes me Fords. My current motor home is on an E-450 chassis with the V-10. Sold my 1996 PSD We also have a 2003 F150 Lariat, 2015 Ford Fusion hybrid and just bought back one of my old work trucks, 1978 F250 Camper Special with a 460 in it.

Welcome to the forum. I'm about 4 hours south of you and have camped in the state park just north of you but don't remember the name.

Not really. The guy tried to tell us that there was no way to pin the bed up. So either everything was up or everything was down. But we took it home spent the night going through owners manuals. It's not our first camper so not completely lost on everything. Already started a list of little things that aren't quite right for what our dealer calls the "adjustment service"

Yes it's a 2008 F250 V10. My dad has a 5.4 F350 and I couldn't have something that underpowered. Plus I'm not a diesel fan, especially not the 6.0 or 6.4, so I wasn't going to go that route. That is how we ended up spending a year looking for that truck and then driving to Virginia for it.

Now that's a truck that wasn't on my radar, my neighbor at the time have a Ram V10 and I saw his fuel bills, but the Ford couldn't be any worst than the Ram Cummins towing, MPG.

I still do have a fascination with well oiled machines that sound like and nicely tuned old Singer sewing machine.

The only thing wrong with my Cummins is my picky and pricey maintenance schedule and there's not a Blue Oval hanging on the front of it.

We were actually very surprised with the mileage it gets. 14 highway and 9 towing. Finally ordered a SCT tuner from 5star to get rid of that awful fly-by-wire throttle. Also help the shifting points while towing.
