New to all of this

just purchased a 2014 kodiak 300bhsl. Having some issues with keeping LP hot water going. Other than that we love the RV.

What do you mean by keeping it going?

It will ignite and run for 30sec then shut off and DSI-FLT light comes on. Electric side works fine and runs like it should. Just looking for some help and dealer only can say bring it in and we will look.

The starting place is to check the burner area for critters and mud daubers nests. Check the flue tube, that's where the flame inters into the heater to heat the water. Could be a nest or critter in there.

If all that is clean and clear have someone check the gas pressure from the regulator. Give it all a good look over and then check the wiring on the control board.

This will give you the places to start.

Thanks for the help. It actually turned out to be a couple of things. The circuit board and the igniter were bad. Some old timer helped me check them and we are now in business.

FWIW, We have a 2012 same make & model but only ever use the electric for HW. I did have similar issues with the controller board for the furnace though.

We love our 300BHSL though ours is a 2015 model. We almost picked up a 2014 model but didn't happen ... It was one of the first ones we looked at when we started hunting for a replacement due to our family outgrowing our old Layton but decided to look around more at other manufacturers. We ended up going back to the 300BHSL but by the time we were ready to buy, the 2015 were out so we fell in love with it. There were not many differences other than exterior and interior color schemes.

Our LP burner on our 2014 Kodiak 279RBSL was doing the same thing. Put it in for service before we went full-time and the shop replaced the board. Got home (4 hours from the shop we used) and it did the same thing within 2 days. Called Atwood and told them the part number the shop had installed and they admitted that they had been having problems with that particular circuit board. They sent me a new one free of charge and I changed it myself. It's been working great for 2 years now. Just a side note: if it won't light, especially after running out of gas or changing a tank while leaving the LP heater switch on, pull the wire from the inline fuse and plug it back in after a few seconds. Be careful though if you still have the switch "on" because it will light with a "whoosh" and scare the crap out of you!
