We're home with our Denali
We picked up our new Denali Friday. What should have been a couple of hours turned into an all day event. First got tied up in traffic on 75 around Tampa. Then discovered we left the title at home (ugh!). Luckily it was Friday and the tax collector's office was fairly close. After signing all of the paperwork the service department stopped for lunch. Finally was able to do the walk through about 1:15 which took about an hour. Then it was time to move what we brought with us since we planned on camping for the weekend. It was after 4:00 when we finally pulled out.
Spent the weekend in the Withlacoochee State Forest which gave us time to unpack and play with all the new gadgets. Everything worked well, no leaks, no blown fuses, everything was perfect until we were hooking up to leave. First, we're new to power jacks and auto leveling which took a while for us to figure it out. Once that was done we were locking down when we smelt plastic burning. Turned out there was a short in the power brake disconnect. Luckily it was only smoke but Van had to disconnect the power brakes so we could drive home. He's an excellent driver and traffic was light so no problems.
All in all, we are extremely happy with our purchase and look forward to spending many weekends playing with our camping friends. I didn't take many pictures this weekend since it was a working trip but I did get a couple. Will try to post them next.
