New in North Carolina

Hi,
My wife and I are from Greensboro, NC. We traded in our one year old travel trailer today for a 2008 Dutchman Dorado 26BE, with 15,000 MI on it. It seems to be in excellent condition, with 6 new Michelin Tires. I have to admit I know very little about Dutchman and can't seem to find much info and discussion on this model. Does anyone on the forum own this or a similar model and what has been your experience with it? I pick it up next Saturday and am very eager to "play" with it.

Welcome!

Dutchmen has played fast and loose with the motorhomes over the last several years. Good news is there isn't much that is proprietary, most of the various components and appliances are pretty much industry standard and relatively easy to source replacement parts for.

I currently own a Coachmen Concord (Forest River product ) but there isn't a whole lot of difference between the various brands.

Your floor plan looks similar to mine, just a bit shorter.

Are you on the Ford or Chevy Chassis?

Aaron

That's the same one I have. It is a beast! Expect 7.5 mpg or so.

I seriously doubt you will ever see that. IIRC you have the 5-speed transmission. Around 2015 they went with the 6 speed. One thing that is will help mileage some and driveability is the 5 Star Tuner. Huge improvement in shift points. I haven't installed it on my current rig, but it is on the list.

I use 7.5mpg for planning purposes I usually average a bit better than that.
