New Family

Hi All,

New forum member here from Calgary, Alberta. After years of tenting we finally have our own travel trailer! Did our first camp in Fairmont Hot Springs, BC two weeks ago. It was a blast! This weekend we're off to Banff National Park to spend the weekend camping. Can't wait!!

We chose the 2015 Aspen Trail 2710BH as it's layout seems to suit our family of 4. I'll be searching the forum for advice on flipping axles as I find the drain sits a little low.

Happy camping everyone!!

Hey, neighbor.

Welcome to the forum.

If you are going to flip the axles, I recommend you do a wet bolt kit as well. One of the weakest links in the suspension, the plastic bushings wear out fairly quickly, then the bolts and shackles start to wear.

Here's a link to an axle flip kit.

Lots of good resources for parts online, unfortunately the shipping kills us, unless you can get stuff shipped to a US address and pick it up. I'm only an hour from the border, so I can pick parts up and import them myself. Last two trips I've saved about $3K even with our weak dollar. Many of the online stores have free shipping offers the US addresses.

Thanks!! I imported our tent trailer through the Carway border Montana. It's about 3 hr drive from Calgary. There's a shop here in Calgary quoted me for CAD450 to do the flip. I'll confirm with them regarding the wet bolt kit. Thanks for the top much appreciated!

No problem, us prairie boys got to stick together. My grandparents one both sides homesteaded in southern Alberta. My dads side stuck around the Stettler area, moms side pulled up stakes and moved north to Salt Prairie.

I get a lump in my throat everytime I'm looking west at them Rockies.
