New Coleman Owner

Just wanted to say hi in case anyone sees me trolling around the forums and asking newb questions. My wife and I are picking up our Coleman CTS192RD tomorrow and I am excited! First time TT owners so I will have a lot of questions. If this is anything like the Toyota forums you have all probably answered most of them somewhere in here.

Dunno if we have covered all the questions or not, but we are always ready to help!

BTW we Coleman owners are in the minority on here, so we have to stick together.

Welcome & ask away. Wish there would have been this info when wife & I bought our first used tent trailer in 1985. I have a lot of first hand knowledge of what not to do.

I guess Funny thing is; in my travels up and down the highways and byways of the East Coast, I usually see more Coleman TT's than Voltages. However I did see 2 Voltage tri-axles northbound on I-95 in NC today, about 35-40 minutes apart.

Ha, two triple axle Voltages equal how many TTs?

Any issues or nuances I should know about this 192rd? It's always good to hear from people who actually own what you have bought. Btw I bought in to the protective coating and fabric along with the 5 year warranty. More for peace of mind than anything. Normally I pass but having never owned a travel trailer I caved. Pick it up tomorrow now.

Make sure you do a thorough PDI, make sure everything and I do mean EVERYTHING works. Somewhere on the board here there is a pretty decent list of what to look for. A good PDI can take a couple of hours or even more depending on the complexity of the trailer.

I have the same Coleman unit that you are purchasing. We picked ours up in December after our single-axle Jayco was totalled by hail damage. The floor plan is awesome! I will also be watching the forum to see if I need to be aware of any issues with the unit or for any helpful hints. I have been camping since I was a baby, but I always learn new things on the forum.

Hope you have great times camping in the new unit!

Pulled the camper to the site without issue yesterday. Everything so far works fine except for the furnace. No fan, no heat. Reset system power per manual instructions but nothing. It's an Atkins brand. Any thoughts? Other than that not too shabby.

It's a 12 V system, so there's not much to it. First thing is the thermostat. That little switch in the upper right has to be "on" which is a hard click to the left. If the thermostat is in mid-setting, you should hear the fan kick on, and the gas shortly after that. If there is no response check the 12V fuse in the power box.

I would pop the thermostat and make sure it is wired. I seem to recall that being a problem on more than one occasion. Check for power at the furnace with a volt meter, you should have 12 volts at the furnace control board.

Great ideas guys. I will check the thermostat since I can hear that functioning. It's probably a good start. Then I will check the heater for 12 vdc. I have the manual so that shouldn't be too hard to check either. I already checked the fuse and it's good. No matter what we have to take it in a few weeks for uv protection so it will get fixed

Good to hear everything went well. There are a few mods I made to mine here http://www.dutchmenowners.org/forums...wners-585.html

Nothing major.

Yeah everything went great. Just curious with regards to the Weight distribution hitch. Should I unhook the bars before maneuvering into place at the camp site?

I can't really help you with that since I do not use them.
But I am sure someone will chime in.

Please be a little more specific... What kind of hitch do you have?

If you have a equalizer you do not have to remove them.
