Re: Introducing ourselves
I wrote up a couple of nice paragraphs the first time and lost it all when the confuser locked up. A little more cautious this time. I belong to another Forum that really doesn't like Internet Explorer, so we get to it through Firefox. Trying to see if the same thing happens here.

No, not one of those sites at all. Thanks for the spell check. I corrected it.

Re: Introducing ourselves
Hello! We have a 2007 Four Winds 18B Lite (it's not really that light!). This is our first travel trailer and we love it. We have only been out once in it to a park close by and are planning on taking it to the Smoky Mountains at Christmas. We purchased it used but it is in great shape. The mods have already started which is really fun. Very happy to find this forum. Don and Wendy Mullen

Re: Introducing ourselves
Hello everyone, my wife and I purchased a new 2010 Komfort in March 2011. We love it and use it nearly every weekend. We live in Northern California. Lots of year long camping options in this part of the Country. Will be going to upstate NY in 2012. Michael and Sue Arnold

Re: Introducing ourselves
Heh all, guess I might as well join in on the introductions here too
Grew up camping with a tent on the back of the motorbike through my teens and in the early twenties moved up to pulling a 12' BonAir tent trailer and sleeping on a mattress/chunk of foam . Life got busy and the next thing I know it's been years since I'd been camping (let alone the fact my 20's and 30's were gone) but the new g/f and her daughters had moved in and wow... they had never been camping before.
Soo... what to buy to to try and get them involved... ? My g/f Nicole was a bit nervous of living "in the bush" compared to the prairies where you can see animials coming towards you from hundreds of miles away haha... so wasn't too keen on sleeping in a tent. Other options to start off were cheap, falling apart old hard tops (so the bears wouldn't eat us ) or for not much more, some newer tent trailers to get them in the swing of things? I was fine with a tent...Nicole actually bought a little 10" Coleman tent trailer....and off we went with the kids almost every warm weekend for the following 2 years. They LOVED it!
This past summer we made a trip to Wisconsin Dells and stupidly followed the woodalls guide on recomendations... ended up at a campground they rated top notch but found out was next to the interstate and so loud we had to wear ear plugs to stay in the campground, let alone sleep. Leaving the Dells we had enough of the tent trailer experience and stopped in at a dealer and put money down on a new 2011 Dutchmen Dutchmen 295BHGS, just what we were looking for, quad bunks, at the limits or a bit over what we wanted length wise, but... it will work with the campgrounds we tend to visit. Room wise, the kids have picked out their bunks already, have plans for bringing the friends along, Nicoles so excited she's showing everyone the new trailer and me... I'm soo looking forward to having cupboards to keep things organized (ha... sad but camping with someone who is a bit disorganized... cupboards will help out soo much).
So... brand new to pulling a full sized trailer, new to having actual beds/bunks and such things as A/C while camping (seriously... jeeshh... just put it in our house ) but sure looking forward to getting out even more this coming summer

Hi Everyone,
We have an 08 Tundra 31 BH-DSL which Dutchmen quit making in 09. We love it, and we think that Dutchmen makes a good product.

Re: Introducing ourselves
Hello Group
I started camping with the scouts in the 50's and have never stopped.
We are on our third trailer and I think that I have as much fun fixing and upgrading things as I do camping. All have been used or hand-me-downs. The first was a 71 Kenskill 19 footer that we got from Colleen's dad's estate in 85, the second was an 81 Komfort 20 foot that we got around 95, and the current is a 91 Dutchman that we picked up in 08.
All have been significantly upgraded by me as part of my "Hobby"? I just love to tinker. Rebuilt cabinets, repaired leaks and dry rot, done electrical upgrades, etc. Looking forward to traveling more when I retire (2 to 5 years) but still plan on having a base someplace and only being on the road for part of the year.
I am an electrical engineer and a Master Electrician as well as a JOAT.
Dave
