Hey-O!

JC here. Recently picked up a 2012 Denali 311BH. First weekend out will be April 6th. Seems like a great unit so far (still can't get over how it dwarfs my F-350). I used to race a Subaru STI rally car but sold that to buy this as it was time to give back to the family for them putting up with me being off racing and having fun. Anyway, have a long camping itinerary this summer. Will be fun. We are in Calgary Alberta so we are also planning a longer Yellowstone-Vegas-Grand Canyon-Hoover Dam-LA-Tahoe-Portland-Seattle trip next summer. Also plan to do the Alaska Highway the year after.

Was thinking about a few mods such as:
- new nose cap when they come out with one
- upgraded suspension
- make the stabilzer jacks independent so I can stabilize on an uneven surface

Already been posting a bit in the TT forum and thanks to those who have been helping to answer my questions!

See ya'round!

JC

Re: Hey-O!

JC,
Welcome to TT ownership, and that sure sounds like an ambitious trip you have planned! You are lucky to have such a heavy duty rig to tow it. Our F150 does OK 99% of the time.
As far as making the jacks independent.....get some plastic jacking blocks, run the jacks together close to the ground, the see which one is a little further away. Place a block or two under there, run both sides down, and you are done. It's really pretty fast and easy.

Re: Hey-O!

Thanks for the tip. I like projects though so might try to rewire just for fun if I have time. But chances are I get will get busy with something else and not bother.

Re: Hey-O!

Congratulations, JC! Sounds like you have some great trips planned! My husband upgraded the suspension on our FW and the difference is amazing! The drive is so much better!

Cool! Maybe PM his number as I wouldn't mind speaking to him on how he went about it.

Also, I know FlyingDutchmen is from Alberta (Calgary in fact) - any other members in my neck of the woods?

Happy camping! JC

Re: Hey-O!

Hey JC

We went with the Dexter EZ Flex and wet bolt kit.

It made a very noticeable difference in the ride.

Sadly I have to admit that I paid a shop to do the install though.

Shined her all up today with some polymer polish. Managed to grab a few pics before the sun set. Will post them tomorrow...

Oh, and what I sold to buy my camper:

Lightbulb Re: Hey-O!

You could probably still drift the F350 if you really wanted to.

I have, but it's just not the same. I considering building a rally truck next. However, it won't be an 1-ton!
