Welcome Dronze, Take your time, when picking up your RV, Make sure everything is working, before taking it off the lot, If you find something that needs repairing, get it done before you leave, After you take it off the lot, it may take up to a year, to get back in for the repairs. Enjoy your new RV, and Happy Camping

Thanks guys! Thanks for the tip. I have a few horror stories about taking delivery before everything is good and I sure don't want to make that mistake!

This is where you just have to leave your emotions at home that day. Don't sign the final papers and take delivery before everything is to your satisfaction.

As Rich says, the dealer wants to get that RV delivered and off the his lot. He is a lot more motivated to get it fixed and delivered while it's his, than after you take delivery.

One last word of advice. Plan on leaving a day or two without your unit to give them time to fix the issues you find. If you don't live nearby the dealer, a night or two at a hotel is a small price to pay instead of coming back and leaving your unit at the dealer for four months waiting for the dealer to address your punch list. Congratulations again.

Thank you so much for the advice all, you guys rock! I have been researching and reading numerous forums for quite awhile. I appreciate you folks posting issues and advice as it makes new owners aware of the pitfalls. I had planned to buy at this time of year when sales and service is slower and I've already told my dealer that the trailer will not be leaving the lot until I am completely satisfied. I took two days off to complete a very thorough walk through and have informed the dealer of this as well and they have been very receptive to this. I have researched and have been to many dealers until I found one I felt confident in. This unit will be my trial to full timing which is our ultimate goal. I'm about five years out from retirement unless I can talk my company into letting me telecommute. At that time, our plan is to sell the house, trade in this unit for a larger, better furnished unit where we can explore this country at a very slow rate.
Again, thank you all!

Sounds like you developed a great plan and are working that plan. We were fortunate enough to full time for a year before health issues forced us off the road. GO FOR IT!

Hi Jerry and Chery,

Welcome to the forum. I live in unincorporated Golden behind Colorado Mills shopping center. We usually camp in campgrounds that don't have hookups. This year we are going to try some State Parks for a change of pace. They usually have hookups except for one of our trips to Sylvan Lake. If you're ever interested in where we've been and what we've experienced I'd be happy to meet somewhere for coffee or something. You can let me know through a forum private message if you want. Lots of experience here on the forum. I've never asked a question that someone didn't know the answer.

Dale

Hello Dale and Deb,
We're in the apple meadows area. Thank you for the offer, we'd like to meet you guys. We currently own a pop-up camper where we usually camp without hookups. We will take delivery of our new toy hauler on Monday if it passes our walk through and I think a lot of our excursions will be boon docking.
Thanks again,
Jerry

Yep, 37' one living room slide no party deck. I was looking used but I got this cheap enough. I'll post picks when I take delivery. They label it as Triton by Voltage.
Thanks, Jerry
