Glad to be Here
We have a 2007 Grand Junction 37QSL 5th wheel which we purchased new in 2007. We used it on a limited basis for 3 years until we built a cottage in upstate NY. We were 20 year FL residents and travelled between FL and NY calling ourselves summer birds. After 3 years of pulling it back and forth we decided to leave the trailer in NY. It remained in NY serving as a sewing room for my wife and a guest cottage, if needed. Another important use, as the NY cottage did not have air conditioning, was it’s A/C, should the temperatures so dictate. We sold the cottage last year and last week had it towed back to it’s original home in FL.
Here it will serve as a guest cottage again. We plan to install a generator and use it in the event one of those counter clock-wise wind things that develop off the coast of Africa happen to disrupt our house electricity.
We also discovered that over the past winter a leak developed around the TV antenna base and the bedroom ceiling it now rotted. In addition, the landing gearbox stripped due to the move. I hope to fix these myself and will be searching the forums for any suggestions.
As we have no means of towing the trailer due to selling our truck a few years ago, we plan to either find another truck once the automobile/truck shortage is resolved or trade for a motor home.
