Eve & Rick from Gilbert AZ

We just picked up our first RV/TT last Thursday - a 2018 Dutchmen Aerolite 2843. Spent the weekend starting to stock/outfit everything and get the tow mechanisms adjusted right. Glad to find a forum because we'll probably need some help along the way - luckily my folks also have a TT and have also been a huge help to us already.

And now we attempt to start getting out of the PHX heat! - Our first "shakedown cruise" with hookups is set for this coming weekend. Wish us luck!!

Welcome, Eve & Rick!

We have a lot in Gilbert where we stored our Aerolite 242BHSL. Now we have it up in a small RV park near Christopher Creek at about 6000 feet - out of the heat and in the pines. Elk Haven RV Park is the name. If you're driving up to the rim on the 260, you could check it out, there are 1 or 2 spaces open (or were - they go quick). All hookups, about 2 miles off the highway on Colcord Road (paved) so it's very quiet... near the lakes up on the rim.

One park I highly, highly recommend for a week or weekend is Fool Hollow Lake in/near Show Low. Gorgeous. Half the sites have sewer hookup half don't, but all have water and electric, and paved RV sites, great common areas (playgrounds, bathrooms and showers, etc). But the views are what sets it apart, it's one of the prettiest lakes in AZ, IMHO. The picture was taken standing in our campsite, to give you some idea what I mean.

Anyway, have fun, go places, make memories, love life.

I wish this site has a LIKE button. Otherwise, that's really a nice picture and that location will be added to my wish list for camping.

Welcome, we just bought the same unit. Upgraded an additional bedroom A/C since we are in Texas. Looking forward to keeping cooler with this model vs. our last camper which was not an all seasons insulated camper.
