Big voyage off to rough start, help?

So, we aren't even off our street and my husband pulls the trailer around to our front door next thing I know, he bursts into the hous 'I've had an accident!' Caught the awning on a tree when turning corner and it's completely off its track

Our dealer is closed today and we have a tightish schedule for the first few days travelling across Canada! Any ideas on what to do? Was thinking of using the drill to just take it off completely and stop in a major city to take a look at it along the way. Leaving from Edmonton, to Saskatoon, Winnipeg, thunderbay (multiple stops along the way once in Ontario) with the next 'big' stop in Ontario being Guelph...

Ugh. I feel less irritated as I type this but couldn't we have at least waited until we left Edmonton to have an 'incident'? Or maybe it's better being at home with wifi so I can ask for advice here...

Thank you!! Added 3 pics but only one shows up... Both ends are off track and the awning is ripped

Bummer. If you haven't bent it badly, and it just got knocked lose, can you try opening it? See if you need to bend or pull it to try and align things as best as possible. You may be able to get it closed properly. It may take a few attempts, and possibly pulling or pulling on the arm to align things as it goes in.

If you've ripped the mounting are off, or majorly bent it, I would not open it.

Good luck.

Despite the pre-trip awning drama, life is good- we removed the awning, mastered leveling and successfully navigated our way to Miller's Campground in MB! Next stop Ignace, ONT

This forum has been so incredibly helpful since we got our Kodiak- I've learned so much from following everyone's posts- thank you!!

Kodiak, we have all learned, just forget it for now and enjoy the camping, I know it hard, but life is tooooo short, A long time ago, I added a RV spot next to the house, Well backing up into it for the 50 time, I didn't notice the overhang from the roof and opened the right side near the roof of the camper, after repairs, I then asked my wife to watch............
