Another From Texas

Just put a deposit on a Kodiak 285 BHSL. Too many great features with a good price. Only thing missing is the outdoor kitchen. My wife said she could live without it. I especially love the weight, 5800 pounds unloaded. While I do own a Ram 2500, it only has the 6.4 Hemi, so I'm sure there will be no problems towing it, given how light this trailer is.

Trailer will be about 7600 pounds fully loaded. Forget the dry weight as you'll never camp at that weight. Check your owner's manual to see what the towing weights are fro your truck.

After doing research I concluded that adding 1,500-2,000 pounds to the dry weight is a good estimate of what I would really be hauling. My towing capacity is 12,500 pounds, and cargo capacity is 3,300 pounds, so I'm good.
