Hello,
I am new to this group and also pretty new to the RV world. I just purchased a used Ranier Dutchmen that does not have an air conditioner. I want to have one installed and was quoted a price of $1000.00 for the unit and installation locally.
Does anyone have any advice or recommendations?

Sounds like a good price - although you don't say what size of conditioner and I'm not familiar with your trailer. Most add on air conditioners are just dropped into an existing roof vent which has been prewired for a conditioner. Just make sure that you have the headroom clearance to walk under it. Getting a second quote is always a good idea.
