Does the refrigerator get cold on electricity?

How long has it been on? On some units the freezer gets cold first, and that usually means you are ok. Never had one where the freezer worked and not the fridge or vice versa.

It's a common description of a non working gas refrigerator. The freezer gets cold first and then if the system is working correctly the lower portion gets its share.

Of course the allotted time is needed..................

Check it after a day being on, it takes a little while, always turn it on a day before you fill it up and head out camping

To speed mine up I will put some blue ice blocks in freezer. The way most absorption fridges work, is that the freezer cools down first then the fridge compartment. It has to do with the way it is plumbed. There is a really good article about it on the web somewhere. Can't find it or the link.
