This is mostly right for the older truck as long as you have the same gear ratio the main difference is a stiffer rear suspension. On newer truck this changed a bit since they released the j-2807....

Same here. Traded in my 2500 diesel with helper bags, upgraded tires etc for a 3500 dually.

With the pin weight there is no way you can safely tow a 3950 with single rear wheel. Even upgraded...
