1. As stated above, put some non skid pads on them where they contact the tires.

2. Don't over tighten them, as I've heard of people actually moving the axle...

They sure look like they would work. I WOULD recommend against the "X" chocks that crank between the wheels. The surface against the tires was too smooth on the ones I had, and the pressure you had...
